Hello, 2020! Lets Talk About Goals & Fashion! First, of all, can you believe that it’s 2020? This date and decade feel surreal, but I am happy that we are here. I have seen so many people create positive New Year goals that I am also a victim of creating goals as well. Nothing feels more refreshing like motivating yourself to get into good healthy habits.

My goal is to literally invest in what makes me happy. So whether it’s saving to finally get out of student loan debt or spending more time on my brand. I am going to invest and grind until the wheels fall off. So no more spending ridiculous amounts of money to keep up with the Joneses (Not like I ever did). However, I’m only spending money within a purpose. Can I get an amen? Sounds korny, but this is so important lol.

I am a 90s baby, even though I was born in the late ’80s. However, I grew up listening to Hip-Hop & R&B and adored anything Black Hip-Hop fashions. Some of my favorite fashionable artists were Aaliyah, Brandy, Mary J Blige, TLC, and of course, Lil Kim. I loved all these women’s fashions for various reasons. So whether it was Brandy’s iconic braids or TLC edginess, I was obsessed. However, let’s talk about Lil Kim’s Crush On You Video. There were so many high fashion moments in that video that she still inspires me even in 2020. She’s a legend and a style icon in my book!

I will admit when I purchased this yellow coat, it definitely reminded me of Kim’s 90’s iconic style. I just knew I needed to pay homage and make it my own. So I decided to pair it with a white squared shape top, black leather pants, yellow shades, and my favorite black & clear mules.

I am not sure what’s going on with the weather but it’s been in the late 40s and 50 a lot in NYC that I can get away with wearing this outfit in the winter. I wore this last weekend and it was in the mid-50s with good humidity that I was very comfortable to go out in this.

Can we talk about fun and bright color jackets for the winter? I have purchased a few coats in bright colors and wanted to share a few of my favorites. Note* I bought this coat in a store, so I am linking ones that are similar and ones that I like.
