Embracing My Fat Arms This Summer! A Victory Moment!

This weekend was a victory moment. Every summer I hide my arms with dusters, jackets, and light sweaters, but yesterday I felt like going bare arms. If you know me, I never show them off no matter how hot and humid it is outside. I always felt afraid of showing them off due to stretch marks, jiggly skin, and uneven skin tone.

However, yesterday felt different. It was 90 degrees in NYC and I told myself that everything will be ok, and if anyone stared at my arms, I’ll just carry a jacket and put it on. Well to my surprise nobody stared at arms, I actually received compliments on my skirt, and it felt damn good and refreshing to not hide my arms.

If you follow me on Instagram and have been watching my IG stories. I have been on a hiatus due to a health scare and illness, but I’ll go in-depth about that at a later time. However, I really missed getting dressed up and posting on my feed. It feels good to get back to doing what I love, which is blogging!

I am obsessed with this yellow printed skirt. I decided to pair it with a black lace bralette, gold accents, and my favorite red purse.

Here are some extra tips if you are struggling with your arms.

  1. Moisturize your arms with an oil and butter-based product. I used shea butter with coconut oil, and it made my arms look and feel like silk!
  2. Carry a sweater or a light jacket just in case you feel insecure if you are out and about. It’s okay if you don’t feel comfortable right away, you are starting a new journey and that’s awesome =)
  3. Remember that your arms are functional, important, and beautiful just the way they are. With that said, show them off and embrace those arms girl!
